Manufacturing Engineer
Alexandria, VA
The Manufacturing Engineer is a critical member of the engineering team within our AMS Group licensing business, focusing on providing support for the Electrical/Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical sector. This position requires manufacturing expertise to facilitate production of a broad range of products, primarily for military use. This includes addressing obsolescence challenges linked to legacy aircraft components, with a specific focus on Printed Circuit Boards, Transducer Assemblies, Vacuum Pumps, Motors, and similar items.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in creation and approval of First Article Inspection Reports
- Evaluate and distribute proprietary technical data
- Identify and develop relationships with suppliers capable of manufacturing our licensed aerospace parts
- Adhere to all company quality standards, including ISO 9001, AS 9100, ITAR, IPC-A-610 and J-STD requirements and policies
- Actively participate in engineering design reviews, authorizing ECO/ECN as required

Government Contracts Administrator
Functional Responsibilities:
- Perform registration of subsidiary companies with prime contractors and/or suppliers to include the portal registration process.
- Administer assigned proposals and contracts to include customer interface, customer and/or subcontractor negotiations, and contract interpretation to ensure compliance with proposal and/or contract terms.
- Draft correspondence to Contract Officers and Contract Specialists regarding contractual issues for review and approval before release.
- Ability to negotiate contract and/or subcontract Terms & Conditions to include flow-downs, change management, inspection, acceptance, payment, warranty, close-out, records retention, etc.
- Review and process contract, subcontract, and purchase order modifications. Monitor and deliver required documentation to meet contractual obligations.
- Ensure effective and open communication of proposal and contractual information within and across subsidiary company stakeholders, including operational management, finance, quality, etc.
- Act as the primary interface between the Company and customer contractual personnel for all contractual matters.

Aerospace & Defense Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator is part of the Operations Team and is responsible for planning and executing a range of aerospace/defense projects.
Key responsibilities include:

Systems Engineer
Currently Remote- San Diego, CA
As a System Engineer within the NDI team, you will be responsible for the design, procurement, configuration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of air, land, sea and subsea surveillance and interdiction systems. The position requires the ability to have hands on skills with network racking and stacking; various cabling work for network, power, and connectivity; network and firewall design and configuration; and systems design and integration work with command-and-control software packages. These systems integrate surveillance technologies such as radars, cameras, AIS, sonars, networking/communications hardware, and operational systems/centers. This job requires both CONUS and OCONUS travel for the installation of these systems. This position typically works under general supervision and direction of the Director of Engineering and will be expected to support a broad range of NDI programs and work closely with various engineering disciplines and field service engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities
SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
- Develops/Validates system requirements and subsequent design (including networking architectural design) based on customer/program budgets

Program Manager (Engineering)

AMS Engineered Solutions is seeking a Program Manager (PGM) who will be responsible for managing open orders and ensuring that Quality, Schedule, and Cost Targets are achieved. Principal Program Analyst

Maritime Field Service Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
The Maritime Field Service Engineer performs on-site support for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on the AN/SPS-75 and AN/SPS-80 radar systems. This includes providing technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of technical radar systems, and expertise in troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems for naval and coast guard radar systems. Application of diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and implement repairs is essential. Up to 60% CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required.

Deputy Program Manager
The Northern Defense Industries (NDI) Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for the management, performance, and completion of single or multiple domestic/international programs that require the development (hardware and software), manufacture, and test of electronic and electro-mechanical systems. The DPM leads a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians daily, ensuring that contractual obligations are met within the assigned budget and schedule. The DPM serves as the primary contact with customers on assigned programs with a total value of $500K – $5M. The assignment will generally be to higher-risk, higher-value programs with responsibility at the total system level. This position will typically work under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. This position requires significant domestic and international travel, often with little advanced notice (up to 50%). The DPM reports to the Vice President of Programs and works full-time at NDI’s Kent Island, MD facility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages programs by contracts and AMS Group and NDI policies, procedures, and department instruction
- Ensures that contracts are met in the most efficient and profitable manner
- Serves as primary contact for customers
- Leads program execution to meet technical performance within cost and schedule
- Manages, oversees, monitors, and approves all elements of assigned program activities from inception to completion, including proposal development, product design, procurement, subcontracting, manufacturing, testing, delivery, installation, and acceptance of products
- Plans and directs the integration of a cross-functional program team that represents various organizations within the Company
- Effectively manages programs within a project or matrix organization
- Performs program financial management to ensure that profit is earned and cash is collected
- Performs Earned Value Management tasks as required
- Actively performs risk management and pursues risk reduction on assigned programs
- Identifies program issues with sufficient lead for timely resolution
- Works to grow the program through contract changes and preplanned product improvements
- Develops proposals for new business
- Reviews and approves technical approach, feasibility, and cost estimates
- Coordinates proposal preparation, statements of work and specifications, estimation of product/service costs, negotiation, and administration of contracts
- Participates in marketing new technology, developing potential new business, and responsible for obtaining follow-on business in conjunction with Business Development
- Act as a senior leader at the Kent Island NDI facility, managing all local operations and responsible for the efficient daily operations of Kent Island personnel and the Kent Island facility
- May temporarily represent supervisor when required
Minimum Requirements:
- Able to complete a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation, as well as obtain a favorably adjudicated to at least a DoD Secret level (preferably TS SCI) clearance
- Proven understanding of engineering, operations (procurement, subcontracting, and manufacturing), system integration and test, quality assurance, configuration management, logistics, contract administration, standard business practices, finance, and the relationship of programs within a portfolio
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work with an organizational ERP system
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask
- Ability to lead a small, remote team of engineers
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and make presentations
- Knowledge of government procurement, contracting, and standards and specifications
Preferred Capabilities
- Knowledge of ITAR and US export requirements
- Understanding of the Government contracting process
WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
Minimum Requirements:
- Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in a technical discipline, plus a minimum of four years of related experience
- Proven, demonstrable team leadership experience
- General knowledge and experience working with an ERP tool
